Three Things You Should Know About Football This Week

Dominic Raiola Suspended For Stomping

Detroit Lions' center Dominic Raiola was given a one game suspension after he was found guilty of intentionally stomping on another players ankle after a play. Raiola was previously fined $10,000 the month before for striking a player on the Patriots. This is not the first time that a Lions player was found guilty of stomping on another player as Ndamukong Suh, Defensive Tackle for the Lions, was given a two game suspension back in 2011 for a similar incident.

Manziel Out For Week 17

After suffering a hamstring injury in his game against the Panthers, Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel is ruled out for the rest of the season. He finishes his rookie season with 175 passing yards and a 42.0 passer rating. Back up quarterback Brian Hoyer is also questionable with a shoulder injury, so practice squad quarterback Connor Shaw may see playing time for Cleveland this Sunday.

Hernandez Trial To Take Six To Ten Weeks

Former Patriot's Tight End Aaron Hernandez was arrested in June 2013 for the murder of Odin Lloyd and is now awaiting trial in January next year. Hernandez will face charges including three counts of murder. The trial is expected to take anywhere from six to ten weeks.
