Juxtaposition

Juxtaposition is the art of comparing two things in an ironic and/or thought provoking way.  This picture displays juxtaposition by comparing a traditional Asian style tower, next to a modern, industrial factory. The tower representing the past, and the factory representing the present.

Juxtaposition

Juxtaposition is two things that are purposely placed net to each other in order to provoke thought or generate humor. In this image a van from a church is parked in front of a adult store, contrasting the fact that the church is supposed to represent what is right, the innocent, and everything non-sexual.

Juxtaposition in real life

I chose this image for juxtaposition because there is all the pink girly fabric on this tank. Also this tank is in a seemingly safe area. The tank is a symbol of war and for it to be behind girly, whimsical fabrics is just very odd. Also the placement is odd because the are which the tank is in does not look like a war zone. The fabric juxtaposes the tank and the tank juxtaposes the alley way.

Juxtaposition is the fact of two things being seen or placed close together with contrasting effect. The juxtaposition in this picture is demonstrated by the WIN A DREAM HOLIDAY AD and the sinking cruise liner below that. This picture uses juxtaposition in a humorous way by making the reader think about winning a dream holiday, but to be scared about the cruise liner sinking.

Juxtaposition is the fact of two things being seen or placed close together with contrasting effect.  In this picture, the objects being juxtaposed are the flowers and the building.  That is true because, flowers represent peacefulness and nature.  While buildings are man made and a lot bigger than the flowers which come from the Earth.  The flowers have lots of natural beauty which the buildings take away from them.

JuxtaPosition

Juxtaposition is two things placed next to eachother that are not alike in order to provoke thought or humor. This is a picture of a Disney blimb next to a fighter Jet. This represents juxtaposition because the blimb is from a kids network and the fighter jet is used in war.

Juxtaposition is two things that are purposely placed net to each other in order to provoke thought or generate humor. This image shows kids playing on an old cannon. this is juxtaposition because the cannon represents war and the kids represent the peace that soldiers fight to protect.

Juxtaposition

Juxtaposition is the fact of two things being seen or placed close together with contrasting effect.  Tanks are meant to be manly, strong and powerful.  By putting the pink on the tank it makes the tank look weak and girly.  I thought this was pretty funny.  This is juxtaposition because the two items are contradicting each other.  If people saw this they wouldn't know what to think.  They wouldn't know whether to be scared or amused.

Juxtapostion

Juxtaposition is two things that are purposely placed net to each other in order to provoke thought or generate humor. The picture below displays a segment from a newspaper with the headline "Stop tweeting" and just above that headline the newspaper says "Follow us on Twitter". This is an example of juxtaposition because of a contradicting ad asking the reader to follow the newspaper on twitter when just below is a headline saying "Stop tweeting".  I find this humorous because it is almost confusing that a headline says stop tweeting and just above the headline you are encouraged to use twitter. This is a good example of juxtaposition because of it provokes thought on what is trying to be displayed.

Juxtaposition

Juxtaposition is two things put next to each other to provoke thought or create humor. In this photo that I found, two advertisements are in juxtaposition with each other. The ad above is intending to raise awareness for childhood obesity, while the ad below is promoting McDonald's. These two images are contrasting because McDonald's food is very unhealthy and can cause obesity. It is humorous because even though the the ads contradict each other in such a glaring way, they were placed one on top of the other.

Juxtaposition

Juxtaposition is two things that are placed next to each other that create a contrasting effect with each other.  This image shows a nuclear bomb's cloud going up after being let off and a picture of a tree and a nice peaceful day at the top of it. The effect that this picture represents is one that shows dropping a bomb somewhere but what you could have there instead is a nice tree that is not destructive and doesn't hurt anything. It also shows how destructive mankind can be and how people can destroy things instead of having something peaceful that is an important part of life.

Juxtaposition

Juxtaposition is when two things have contrast between each other.  They can be side by side or behind each other that show two different meanings. They are usually opposite from each other and not similar. They can have something to do with each other but mean totally different things.  An example of this can be seen in the picture below.  The picture shows juxtaposition because it shows one black sheep surrounded by all white sheep.  I found this picture interesting because it has a double meaning.  One on side it shows the connotation of being an outsider and on the other side they are are both the same animal but just having different color fur.

Juxtapositon

Juxtaposition is when two entities are purposely placed next to each other as a way to provoke thought and or create humor.  An activated mind is the goal for when juxtaposition is used creatively.  In my picture, the two signs are being juxtaposed.  They are contrasting the rules about pets for the same exact location.  It is meant to bring humor to the viewer of the photograph because it is so confusing that it becomes funny.  It is unclear if pets are allowed or not because the first sign says "no" but then is contradicted by the second sign saying that they just must be on a leash.  It is an example of juxtaposition because it engages the mind.

Juxtaposition

Juxtaposition is when two things next to eachother are conplete opposites. Or even when one thing contradicts the other. Juxtaposition is interesting because there is a lot of it in every day life. Even when someone runs a red light it could be classifies as doing the opposite. In my picture it shows a sign that says not to litter yet there is trash all over the ground. My picture

Juxtaposition

Juxtaposition is when two things are seen and or placed together in a contrasting way. Juxtaposition is interesting because it shows how so many things contradict each other throughout life. It makes you think about the way we live out life and the choices we make. Also the way our choices effects the world.
