Three Things You Should Know About Football This Week

Coaches Find New Teams

Rex Ryan Named Head Coach of Bills

The Buffalo Bills announced that Rex Ryan has been hired as their new head coach. Ryan was the former head coach of the New York Jets, but was fired after the Jets finished 4-12. Ryan plans to snap the 15 year playoff drought the Bills are currently going through and has vowed to build the Buffalo Bills "into a bully". Ryan said the Patriots remain the AFC team he wants to beat the most, but also says that "its personal" between him and the Jets.

Raiders Hire Jack Del Rio

Defensive Coordinator Jack Del Rio was recently signed to the Oakland Raiders to be their next head coach. Del Rio had been the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars before his role as the defensive coordinator at Denver, so he is experienced at running a team like this. The Broncos were 3rd in total defense this season, and forced the most three-and-outs in the league.

Bowles Signed as Jets Head Coach

Todd Bowles, former Cardinals defensive coordinator, was hired recently by the New York Jets. He will be replacing Rex Ryan, who was fired after the end of this season. Bowles was signed for his "aggressive style defense" that he brought to Cardinals. The Jets hope that the addition of Bowles will help the Jets to make the playoffs in the first time in four years.
