Journalist Luca Lavarone created a social experiment where
he gathered several boys between the ages of 6 and 11 and introduced them to a
girl around the same age. He recorded their interaction with the girl as he
tells them to do things such as “make a funny face at her” or “say what you
like about her”. The boys obliged without a thought. But then Luca told them to
slap her. And immediately all of the boys refused and said things like that you
shouldn’t hit girls or that they were against violence. This video quickly
became a viral sensation because it showed that even young boys have the
maturity and sense of respect that you would not think you could find in
someone their age. The video shows that not all men are violent; that it is not
an inherent trait. The video was made by Fanpage. It and was releases on Youtube
as a public service announcement to stop domestic violence. The video will
resonate with you, which is why it is considered such a success.

Pope Francis Sends out a
Warning to Those Who Mock Religion
While discussing the topic of the January 7 terror attack in
Paris, the Pope made a comment directed towards people who mock religion. He
said that making fun of someone’s religious beliefs is a “dangerous business”. The
Pope spoke at a press conference while on his Vatican plane in the Philippines.
He said, “One cannot provoke, one cannot insult other people’s faith, one
cannot make fun of faith.” He then went on to make an analogy between the
ridicule of religion and the ridicule of someone’s mother. “If a dear friend
were to utter a swear word against my mother, he’s going to get a punch in the
nose. That’s normal.” People seemed to blow this comment out of proportion because
he is the Pope and he is supposed to speak about peace and faith. He said,
“There are so many people who speak against religions, who make fun of them….
they are provocateurs. And what happens to them is what would happen to [my
dear friend] if he says a word against my mother.” But he was simply saying
that no one should mock someone’s faith or beliefs.
